Born and raised in Danville, VA, R.P. Strader is a proud U.S. Army veteran who began his lifelong connection with Smith Mountain Lake (SML) in 1981. His love for the area grew from childhood visits, and in 2015, he made the move to SML permanent. Over the years, R.P. has lived in all three surrounding counties of the lake, finally deciding to drop anchor in Franklin County. In 2022, he and his wife, Michelle, a local Class A contractor and project manager, built their new home there. They share this beautiful life with their beloved dogs, Moose and Biscuit.

R.P.'s work ethic was cultivated early on his uncle's tobacco farm. After serving in the US Army Artillery, he completed an apprenticeship program and became a Journeyman Industrial Maintenance Mechanic. His career has spanned roles at Corning INC., MillerCoors Brewing, and Dominion Energy.

A passionate drummer from an early age, R.P. enjoys playing all types of music. Embracing the SML lifestyle, he loves boating, fishing, and local live music, and cherishes time spent with dear friends and family.

R.P.'s entry into real estate was inspired by his positive experiences with Jody and Polly, who sold two of his homes. Their friendship and support led him to join Lyons Team Realtors as an agent, where he brings his commitment, strong work ethic, trustworthiness, honesty, integrity, and detail-oriented, mission-focused approach to the team.
